2006 Castano Monastrell Yecla
AC: Perhaps we shouldn’t drink this after the Almaviva… From the nose to the mid palate to the finish I tasted some odd herbs if not grass. 2001 Almaviva
AC: Opened with a fruity nose, the fruits didn’t wait long to take over the midpalate as well. Turned out to be quite california-like. Not so concentrated, combining with a fair finish this has never showed itself as a ‘Rothschild’ wine throughout. Still, quite tasty and definitely not ‘disappointed’. 90 VW: Dark purple without age.
