GINI Wine Tasting

AC: Don’t know if it’s because I haven’t had a nice red for about 2 months, this terrific wine comes at a good price and in a good time. It is leathery and oaky in the palate, much like most of good old reds. Well balanced. It lacks the tannin a young wine usually has and the kind of finish a big red gives. But still, very enjoyable with a casual dinner. 91

VW: Lots of cherry, almost a little cough syrup upon opening. It was fruit forward, thick and quite structured at first with slight bitter finishing. This softened and the fruit became less dorminant as the dinner progressed. More leathery and dusty it became while maintaining bright acidity throughout. This is very good for the price and should improve for couple of years. 90 (Jan 2009)
