2005 Torbreck Woodcutter’s Shiraz
AC: I’ve bought this wine long ago but never has that WANT to go drink it… probably because I think most Australian Shiraz are overrated, and that this wine is not that expensive ($24.95 for 2006 vintage) and can always be found in LCBO. Finally yesterday at dinner I decided to open this 2005 bottle, probably thinking that my parents would enjoy this New World wine more than all those Old World wines in my cellar. Without much expectations, this wine comes as a total surprise. Strong nose of all sorts of fruits, the fruits completely fills your palate once gets into your mouth. The thing I like about this wine is its distinct taste. Wouldn’t have trouble recognizing it among other Shiraz. A pleasant surprise indeed. 91
