2003 Chateau Pipeau Saint Emilion Grand Cru

2003 Chateau Pipeau Saint Emillion Grand CruAC: Another typical Bordeaux wine experience. Carrying a floral tone, you cannot complain about its aroma. One great thing about Bordeaux wine is that you usually don’t have to guess how much attention it tries to get from you in the beginning but you can expect the result to be satisfying. This medium-bodied wine is not sweet but it gives good tannic finish. Would be better if I had food to go with it. 89

VW: Powerful aroma of black berry, currant and menthol. Very ripe and broad palate with lots of dark fruits. This opulence, low acid bordeaux fully showed the heat of 2003. Suprisingly forward, the Pipeau 2003 seems to be evolving quickly and should be at it’s best now and within the next few years. 90 (May 5, 2007)
