GINI Wine Tasting

VW: Dark with plum and black berries on the nose. Opulent palate with espresso, plums and different berries. Not difficult to see this is coming from a hot vintage. The fruits are sweet and low in acidity. Intensely flavoured giving lots of enjoyment already at this early stage. Tannins are ripe and soft. There is almost no need to wait on this wine although it should continue to deliver the good for a number of years. It may not be as fresh as I’d like and at some points this almost seems syrah like, but it is not possible to ignore the delicious taste. 92 (Dec 19, 2007)

AC: Second time tasting this wine and it is still as delicious as the first time we had it at a Tasting. A very shy nose… I guess all the good stuff has gone into the wine itself! Once in the mouth I quickly feel the fruits but it was more acidity that I can feel, as compared to other wine, the fruits stay very strong in this wine and becomes chocolaty between your teeth and remains even after the finish. All sorts of smoky wood, tar in the mid-palate. It neither has much concentration nor long finish BUT its style and taste has totally made this a very delicious wine. Love it. 93
