2001 Alejandro Fernandez Tinto Pesquera
VW: Had this just few weeks ago and this bottle was not as good. It had the smell and taste of Chinese bamboo shoot or that of olives. That did dissipated some half way into the tasting to reveal more of the underlying black fruits. Overall not bad with good amount of fruits. Probably just a little flaw with this particular bottle. 89 (Dec 8, 2007)
Although this wine lacks the classiness in old world wine, I do find it quite likable, with its fruitiness and a long tannic, chocolaty finish. An interesting Spanish wine. 92
