2000 Castello dei Rampolla Sammarco
VW: Cabernet sangiovese blend from Tuscany. On open, this has focused black fruits and cedar. Together with the silky palate, this was similar to a nice bordeaux. Good things stop here and the wine went downhill from there on. It became rather open knit after sitting in glass. The palate also seemed a little diluted, probably because of a weaker year. A bit disappointing given what it is. 90 (Nov 14, 2007)
