1999 Louis Jadot Beaune Clos des Ursules

1999 Louis Jadot Beaune Clos des UrsulesVW: Jadot wines are often not rated high by major critics but I find them consistently delivering. The 96 version of this particular one let me understand how a good wine can be. Although there were better wine since then, it always has a special place in my mind. This 99 is at absolute peak with totally resolved tannins. Medium bodied, nice concentration and full of flavours. Sweet cherries giving way to bright acidity, followed by the best part where everything reverb in the long finish. No disappointment. 92 (May, 2008)

AC: Realizing that the 96 version of this wine made Vincent a wine enthusiast, it’s hard to drink this 99 version without great expectation. Classic Burgundy, with traditional mid palate, complex. Still relatively light but great with food. Don’t remember the finish so I definitely need to taste this again! :) Not sure if it’s because I had some good california recently, my taste have tilted slightly towards the new world but I definitely still find old world having more style and room to appreciate. 90
