1998 Chateau Les Carmes Haut-Brion
AC: Nice strong nose with leather. Medium to full body with a medium concentration. Definitely fruity but not sweet with all sorts of flavour which is really why I like a nice Bordeaux. The super long finish lasted even when I was eating a spicy Korean dish and when I was washing the decanter! 92
VW: Strong cedar and currant on the nose. Some dry herbs emerged after it sat in the glass. Big smokey palate which also showed abundant black fruits. Good concentration and high in glycerine. As Andrew already mentioed, these all wrapped up in an amazingly long mineral and blueberry finish. It should still improve for a few more years. 92 (May-24, 2007)
