1996 Andrea Oberto Barolo Vigneto Rocche

1996 Andrea Oberto Barolo Vigneto RoccheVW: Dark ruby with brownish tint. Explosive floral aromas literally jump out of the decanter 10 feet away when it is being decanted. A mix of flowers especially roses on top of some sweet fruits. Silky palate is in total balance and wrap up in a memorably long finish. It just tasted so young with big ripe tannins which can comfortably survive the next 10 or even 15 years. 93+ (August 31, 2007)

AC: it’s been a while… Oh what a borolo. This really reminded me of the good borolo I had last year at Paese. With this wine it tells me that good borolo is never cheap. Despite of a old vintage it still carries that strong tanin and strong finish to tell us that it still can sit around for some years. Just like a good bordeaux this is total pleasure to enjoy. 93
