1994 Chateau Haut-Piquat Lussac Saint-Emillion
AC: This old Saint Emillion confuses me whether what a ‘fruity’ wine should taste. New world (or younger) wine is usually easier to taste the fruits in the wine. But fruits in old world wine usually does not link up with the word ‘sweet’ what-so-ever so makes it much harder to detect. Coming back to this wine, I don’t think there is much fruit but yet it does possess the basic quality in French wine. Lacking some finish, with its left over bit of tannin, this wine might have passed its peak. 89
